A meteorologist with Environment Canada says we’re in for some messy weather Friday.
Ian Hubbard says you should be prepared for wind, rain and a sudden temperature drop.
“We’re going to see a lot of freezing on the ground and in any areas where there’s some water from that rain earlier in the day.”
Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for all of Nova Scotia.
The forecaster says 25-50 millimetres of rain will be accompanied by wind gusts between 80 and 100 kilometres an hour, beginning tomorrow night.
On Friday afternoon, a flash freeze is expected, with a brief period of freezing rain followed by flurries.
They say any water on roads will quickly freeze, leading to hazardous driving conditions.
