Wondering when you can put winter in your rearview mirror?
The Weather Network is out with its Spring Forecast, predicting a rocky road ahead.
It warns Nova Scotia could still see a few more bouts of “late-winter-like weather” before spring finally arrives.
“An active storm track and moisture-laden systems should bring above-normal precipitation across the region, and this includes a heightened risk for late-season winter storms.”
The forecaster anticipates we’ll settle into a more typical spring pattern with back and forth temperature swings that come close to offsetting each other.
Most of the Atlantic region will see near-normal temperatures, while the thermometer is expected to soar higher in southwest Nova Scotia.
The Weather Network explains although it will be a wet spring due to precipitation amounts, the overall threat for widespread spring flooding remains low.
It says mild weather in February has helped to reduce the amount of snow on the ground that can melt and contribute to flooding.
A heads up if you have a green thumb, the forecaster warns wet soil conditions could pose problems at the start of the planting season.
