Nova Scotia’s Mattea Roach is looking to keep her Jeopardy! winning streak alive.
The 23-year-old pocketed another $24,000 on Friday, bringing her four-day total to more than $100,000.
Jeopardy! host Mayim Bialik says the win also places Roach in an excellent position for the game show’s annual “Tournament of Champions.”

Well, I secured the bag (an additional $24200, Tournament of Champions eligibility, a return trip to Los Angeles, and a chance to share a stage with the GOAT next taping)— Mattea Roach (@mattearoach) April 9, 2022
Roach is originally from Halifax but has been living in Toronto where she works as a tutor.
She says it’s amazing to be called the show’s “Canadian Unicorn,” after the pandemic prevented many from playing the game.
“It was weird crossing the border,” Roach says. “I hadn’t left the country since well before the pandemic. It’s very nice. You know Canadians are always very proud of our homegrown celebrities, so to come on Jeopardy where Alex was such an iconic presence for so many years, it’s really, really special.”
The episodes were pre-recorded in Los Angeles in January.
Roach is contractually obligated to keep what happens, in the yet unaired episodes, secret.
She’ll look to defend her title when the show returns on Monday night.
