Halifax Regional Police have released the name of the 37-year-old woman killed in a stabbing in Spryfield on Tuesday.
Police were called to a report of an injured person in the area of Sylvia Avenue and Herring Cove Road shortly before 1 a.m.
The woman was rushed to the hospital where she later passed away from her injuries.
The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service conducted an autopsy and ruled the death a homicide.
The victim has been identified as Chauntel Lizette MacIntyre.
“Our thoughts are with Chauntel’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” a news release says.
The investigation is in its early stages and police are asking anyone with information or video from the area between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. to call police at 902-490-5020.
