A second vote is needed to determine the next president of the teachers union.
Voting took place on Wednesday, but it didn’t produce a clear winner among the seven candidates.
Peter Day and Ryan Lutes will move on to the second ballot.
According to the Nova Scotia Teachers Union, 60 per cent of its membership participated in the vote.
The next vote will take place on June 2.
Current President Paul Wozney, has held the role since 2018 but did not re-offer.
