A woman and a teenager are facing a long list of weapons and drug charges after a Halifax home was searched on Thursday.
Investigators with the Guns and Gangs Unit were at the property on Joseph Howe Drive at around 5:30 a.m.
Police asked the public to avoid the area while they conducted the search.
Investigators seized cocaine, cash, two handguns, and ammunition.
Olivia Braelee Sampson, 20, and a 17-year-old youth were arrested at the scene.
Sampson is facing the following charges:
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm contrary to a court order (x4)
- Failing to surrender weapons contrary to court order
- Handling a firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations (x2)
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm (x2)
- Possession of a firearm without a license (x2)
- Possession of a prohibited weapon
- Possession of a prohibited weapon or ammunition without a license
- Possession of a loaded prohibited weapon (x2)
- Possession of a firearm or prohibited weapon obtained by crime (x2)
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking (x2)
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Breach of probation (x3)
The 17-year-old youth is facing the following offences:
- Possession of a firearm contrary to a court order (x4)
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Handling a firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations (x2)
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm (x2)
- Possession of a firearm without a license (x2)
- Possession of a prohibited weapon
- Possession of a prohibited weapon or ammunition without a license
- Possession of a loaded prohibited weapon (x2)
- Possession of a firearm or prohibited weapon obtained by crime (x2)
- Failing to surrender weapons contrary to a court order
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking (x2)
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Breach of probation (YCJA) (x2)
Both are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
