We are two weeks into the sailing season for ‘the CAT’ ferry.
After Cabinet yesterday, Public Works Minister Kim Masland was asked about passenger numbers for the service, which resumed for the first time since 2018 between Yarmouth and Maine.
Masland feels it’s still too early to focus on numbers.
“We’re into a new season, and has started a month earlier with a new port. We’re also coming out of a pandemic and people are still very cautious about travelling,” says Masland.
She says ticket sales are going well, and she will work on providing exact numbers.
Masland says there is a lot of optimism for the season, and she plans on meeting with Bay Ferries over the next two weeks.
