Seven Nova Scotians have passed away due to COVID-19.
The province is out with its weekly data report on the virus for the seven-day period ending June 20th.
All of the deaths were people aged 70 or older.
Meantime, there are just over 1,400 new lab-confirmed cases to report, which is down from the last virus update.
“It is encouraging to see that we have another week with decreasing COVID-19 activity,” Dr. Shelley Deeks, Nova Scotia’s Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Health, says in a news release “We have learned a lot about this virus over the last two years. As the weather gets better, I encourage people to have gatherings outdoors where possible, continue to wash your hands, use cough and sneeze etiquette and, most importantly, if you’re sick, stay home.”
Hospital admissions, however, are up with 37 people receiving care.
