A new Canadian record for Brooklyn’s Sarah Mitton in shotput.
She threw 20.33 metres at the national championships in B.C. on Saturday, breaking her own mark of 19.58 metres set in May.
The 25-year-old qualified for the World Track and Field championships next month in Oregon.
Her throw was the farthest in the world so far this year, until yesterday, when Chase Ealey bested it with a throw of 20.55 at the US Outdoor Nationals.
