A man has been sentenced in Yarmouth Provincial Court for violating fishing regulations and has been ordered to pay $16,500.
Eugene Boudreau has plead guilty to possessing lobster claw, tail or meat separated from the carapace, lobster caught in contravention of the Fisheries Act and failing to comply with conditions of licence.
He will also be prohibited from fishing in LFA 34 during the month of May next year.
The charges stemmed from an inspection carried out by Department of Fisheries and Oceans officers from the Tusket detachment aboard the FV Alexa Dawn.
They found 345 lobster tails, 701 lobster claws, 19 undersized lobster and one berried female lobster.
