Police say an escaped inmate from a Dartmouth jail robbed a bank and committed a dine and dash while on the lam.
The Mounties were called to an armed robbery involving a knife at a bank on Central Avenue in Greenwood at around lunchtime on Tuesday.
Police were told during their investigation the same man had dined at a nearby restaurant but slipped away without paying his bill.
They arrested the 43-year-old about an hour later in Kingston.
Ryan Taylor Wilband is facing robbery and theft charges along with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Wilband escaped custody from the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility on Gloria McCluskey Avenue at around 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
Halifax Regional Police reached out to the public for help to track him down.
The Department of Justice is conducting a review of his escape.
