Last week the new artwork at Queens Marque called ‘Tidal Beacon’ was opened to the public.
‘The 60-foot structure is both an environmental art installation and tide clock, making visible our natural connection with the sea through light, sound and motion.’
I was curious how it actually worked as a tide clock. So I asked, and they answered.
‘light rises and falls within the installation, culminating at high and low tide with a 12-minute light event.’
