A Maritime tradition returns tomorrow Saturday, December 3rd with the 59th annual Christmas Daddies Telethon!
The telethon is traditionally when many trim their tree, write Christmas cards or start their Christmas baking.
Some of the entertainment on the show this year includes Pictou’s George Canyon, Elmsdale’s Makayla Lynn, Cape Breton’s Barra MacNeils and Men of the Deeps, plus Waverley’s Myles Goodwyn of April Wine and many more including Santa!
You can also bid on some very cool items like Steve Murphy’s jacket below that he wore in 1986 when he started on Live at 5.
By the way it was a year ago this week Steve retired from the CTV Atlantic News anchor Desk.

Above my wife Roxanne and I with George Canyon at a 2018 Hot Country Hang Out.
To see George in concert here in Halifax next February 14th go to our Hot Country 1035 website and click HERE.
As a side note, Roxanne has been the Executive Director for the past 24 shows and as she says they are a bunch of TV people who put on a show to raise money to help Maritime families at Christmas.
The telethon raised $1,500 that first year in 1964 and the next year support grew to an incredible $5,000. and to date has raised over $34.5 million for less fortunate children.
Above Roxanne and I on the Christmas Daddies set in December 2019, this will be my 36th time volunteering for the telethon.
This year’s telethon will be on CTV2 starting tomorrow at 11.
