A scam in Halifax continues to target seniors.
Halifax Police say more than 44 reports have come in over the last few months, and hundreds of thousands of dollars have been taken.
The scammer pretends to be a family member of the victim, saying they’ve been arrested.
Another person pretending to be from the legal system then asks the victim for money to get their loved one out of jail.
Sometimes the scammer pretends to be a police officer, and picks up the cash in person.
If you have information, contact Halifax Police or Crime Stoppers.
