Shania “Rocked This Country” and Halifax in front of a sold-out crowd at the Scotiabank Centre with many wearing cheetah print.
She made her grand entrance off the Halifax Mooseheads bench at the center ice area making her way through the crowd singing “Waking Up Dreaming” slowly making her way to the stage. Once up on the stage, Shania began singing through her song book catalog of close to 30 years of hits, starting with Up!
She belted out instant singalong songs that had the Halifax crowd eating out of the palm of her hand to thunderous applause!
Here’s a sample of the playlist of her two-hour hit filled show. Wake Up Dreaming Up! Don’t Be Stupid I’m Gonna Getcha Good You’re Still The One Giddy Up! Honey I’m home Any Man of Mine She’s Not Just A Pretty Face Waiter! Bring Me Water! When Thank You Baby (If You’re Not In It For Love) I’m Outta Here From This Moment Party For Two Forever And For Always The Queen of Me Encore: That Don’t Impress Me Much Man! I Feel Like A Woman!
The last time Shania played Halifax was here, at the then Metro Centre, when she opened for Ricky Van Shelton.
She almost played here in Halifax in 1999, but the Halifax Mooseheads had the rink booked for a playoff game, so Shania went to play a show at the Moncton Coliseum.
Opening act for the night Robyn Ottolini put on a solid opening set doing her big hits F150 along with Trust Issues including a fine cover of Abba’s “Dancing Queen” and even threw in some rap. Nice job Robyn!
Some of Robyn’s friends sat next to us at the show and flew in from Ontario to see their friend, who is a rising star!
Let’s not wait another 30 years to come back, okay Shania?
