Canadian hero and icon Terry Fox was born on this date in 1958 and he would’ve turned 65 today.

He was born in Winnipeg and the Fox family moved to Surrey, British Columbia in 1966 prior to settling in Port Coquitlam in 1968.
Terry began his Marathon of Hope on April 12th, 1980 and ended September 1st just outside Thunder Bay, Ontario when his cancer sadly returned.
During his marathon Terry ran 42 kms a day or a marathon a day for 143 days covering 5,373 kms!
The 43rd Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research takes place Sunday, September 17th with more than 650 runs across Canada with other runs all over the world.
To date over 850 million dollars has been raised in Terry’s name. For more on this year’s run click HERE.
