Are you a chronic misplacer? What do you do when you seem to constantly loose things; your phone, your keys, your wallet, your mind?
Here are a few tricks to try next time you find yourself putting on a detective hat for The Case of the Missing Belongings:
Check where you’ve lost it before
Do you frequently place it in that one spot you “definitely won’t forget about it” yet always seem to forget about that one specific location? It may be there!
Check all of the seating areas
Where you hang out the most is also where you are most likely to lose your everyday belongings. Couch cushions will swallow your phone, keys get left on tables, etc. Check your common areas!

Change the lighting
Losing something can be as simple as not seeing it. Of course you can’t find it, turn the lights on!
Turn down the volume
Have you ever had to turn down the radio so you could see better? Turns out there’s a scientific explanation for why this actually works!
Our brain sets tasks based on priority. When the volume is louder, our brain is actually using more of its power to focus on the song or noise around you. When you turn the volume down, the brain is able to prioritize the task better meaning you’re more likely able to find what it is you’ve lost.
