From 2022: DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN light show featuring beadwork during Mi'kmaq History Month last year
A new ‘Mi’kmaw History Month’ light show is set to dazzle beginning tomorrow evening.
The Downtown Halifax Business Commission will kick of their annual Delightful Downtown-at-Grafton-Park light-show series on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Projected on the façade of the former Halifax Memorial Library, the nightly production pays tribute to this year’s Mi’kmaw History Month theme, “Mi’kmaw Sports, Traditional Games, and Pastimes.”
Mi’kmaw Author & First Nation Knowledge Sharer, Theresa Meuse, says a dedicated light show that tells a story helps to educate and shares their unique, rich culture.
This will be the first of 7 vibrant light shows, running until March 31st.
DHBC started Delightful Downtown in 2021 during the pandemic to give people something to do and see outside.
Tomorrow, on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Sept 30, DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN returns with a special light projection show for Mi’kmaw History Month. The show will run until October 31.
