On our summer trip to Toronto we saw a couple of Blue Jays games.
After the first one on August 15th, (our very first game for my wife Roxanne and I) we were lucky to cross paths with Dan Shulman, the TV Voice of the Jays on Sportsnet.

As he was exiting the broadcast booth, we just happened to be walking behind him down the hallway.
I said “Is that the legendary Dan Shulman?”
He replied “It all depends on who you ask?” With with chuckle.
I introduced myself as Ian Robinson, the Halifax Mooseheads Public Address Announcer in the QMJHL.
Dan said “I was actually at a Mooseheads game once when my son lived in Halifax.”
I said “I remember that night and thinking how cool it was after the game to hear that you were there in the crowd.”
We paused for the picture above.
It was a thrill to meet Dan and actually follow him down the stairs and out of the Rogers Centre!

Let’s hope Dan gets to call more Jays games deep into the Fall as the Jays MUST WIN today in their Wild Card Series game with the Minnesota Twins that starts at 5:40pm.
Some pictures below from August when The Jays beat the Philadelphia Phillies 2-1.

By the way, this October 23rd will be the 30th anniversary since the Blue Jays last won the World Series in 1993. Joe Carter was the hero to win it all with a three run home run and the Jays became repeat champs!
