You’ve probably heard of shower beer but have you heard of a beer shower? A whole new reason to trade in your soap suds for an ice cold brewski… almost.
As it turns out, beer may be an excellent scalp cleanse. According to Healthline, this is in part due to two proteins in beer; malt and hops, that may help nourish and strengthen your hair follicles. These beer proteins can bind with hair cuticles during washing, making them appear smoother and leaving your hair shinier after a wash
Non-alcoholic beer is recommended as the alcohol can strip away the natural oils and you want to make sure it goes flat first as the carbon dioxide can create hard water.
This isn’t in place of washing your hair however, shampoo and condition as you normally would – this is more of a clarifier rinse. Some experts even say that spritzing it onto your hair with a spray bottle as a sort of clarifying leave-in conditioner is even more beneficial than rinsing it out. I would maybe recommend a really strong perfume to cover up the Eau de Frat House.
