By now you’ve heard about the horrific bus crash involving crew members of Shania Twain’s Queen of Me Tour.
The had just played in Winnipeg Tuesday night, and roads were extremely slippery after the area had been doused by rain, then covered in snow and the crew bus rolled and a truck jackknifed on the Trans-Canada highway about an hour east of Regina.
Firefighters found the double decker bus on its side, breaking windows and using the emergency hatch to free 13 people stuck inside.
They said, “When it rolled, all the debris trapped people in, so we just had to go in, gently remove items, so we can free people.”
And to make it worse, most of them were sleeping when the bus tipped, because they “just had their socks on and no coats,” so firefighters had to give them blankets to keep warm.
The highway was so bad that later Wednesday morning it was closed due to poor driving conditions, and firefighters ALSO responded to two OTHER jackknifed semi-trailers on the highway the same morning.
And yet… the show still went on in Saskatoon last night!
