Your Halifax Mooseheads were busy at the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League Trade Deadline on the weekend.
One of the newest acquisitions for the Herd made a big splash on Sunday afternoon as Lou-Felix Denis scored the overtime winner in a 3-2 Halifax road win over Charlottetown. The 20-year-old was named the second star of the game.
Lou-Felix was added in a trade along with forward Jan Sprynar from Shawinigan on Saturday afternoon and the two players then immediately hopped into a car and travelled to Halifax together in order to be available for the game against the Islanders yesterday.
(A pit stop on the way to Moose Country. Lou-Felix Denis and Jan Sprynar.)
It was great to see Tantallon, Nova Scotia’s Jake Furlong back in the Mooseheads lineup on the weekend after being away at the World Juniors playing for Team Canada.
The Mooseheads also picked up Halifax native Luke McPhee off waivers from the Cape Breton Eagles.
The new additions will make their Moose Country debut this Saturday night when the Herd host the Quebec Remparts and new Head Coach Eric Veilleux who replaced Patrick Roy.
Eric was bench boss in Moose Country in 2019 when the Mooseheads hosted the Memorial Cup.
Go Moose Go!
See ya at the rink.
