Three students from the HRM are in the running for a Loran Scholars Foundation Award.
They are among 90 of more than 52-hundred applicants from across the country.
Charlie McEwen of Halifax Grammar School, Hannah Daley of Citadel High, and Samantha Kieyele of Ecole secondaire Mosaique are among seven provincial finalists.
The Loran Award is a four-year leadership enrichment program that includes summer work experiences, mentorship and a university tuition waiver.
Thirty-six scholars will receive awards valued at over $100,000 each over four years of undergraduate study.
