The Halifax Mooseheads start their 31st QMJHL season tonight on the road in Charlottetown facing the Islanders.
Then the Herd travel to Saint John Saturday as the Sea Dogs kick off their 20th season in the Port City.
New Halifax bench boss Andrew Lord will get his first taste of the regular season.
He’s the reigning East Coast Hockey League “Coach of the Year” from the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, the Los Angeles Kings affiliate team, and was heavily courted by the Mooseheads to take over the top job on the bench. Andrew is the 14th Head Coach in Moose Country.

The Mooseheads will be a young and entertaining team to watch as they grow and gain experience through the season.
The new Moose Captain is Brady Schultz, the 36th in Herd history and first American born player to wear the C.
Due to renovations at the Scotiabank Centre the Herd’s home opener is delayed by a couple of weeks until Friday, October 4th when they face the Quebec Remparts.
Buckle up for the ride Moose Country!
