The Halifax Thunderbirds are going to the National Lacrosse League semifinal.
They beat the Calgary Roughnecks 16-12 in front of nearly 11,000 fans at Scotiabank Centre Saturday.
It was the team’s first ever home playoff game in their five year history.
Halifax will host the Saskatchewan Rush in Game 1 of their semifinal this Saturday.
Games 2 and 3 if necessary will be on the road May 10 and 11.
