The RCMP has laid charges related to the illegal sale of drugs at an encampment in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
On October 9th, the RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment Community Action Response executed a search warrant as part of an investigation into drug trafficking to people who are unhoused in Lower Sackville.
Officers arrested three men in a parking lot on the Bedford Highway and searched a home in Lower Sackville.
They seized cocaine, hydromorphone pills, cash, copper wire, stripped copper, and two vehicles.
A 58-year-old Lower Sackville man has been charged with a number of offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon.
He will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Friday.
A 51-year-old Dartmouth man and a 41-year-old Halifax man were released pending future court appearances.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
