A big drop in passenger numbers on the ‘CAT’ ferry this year.
Bay Ferries says 39,745 passengers booked travel on the Yarmouth-to-Maine vessel in 2025.
That’s over 9,500 fewer passengers and 3,700 less vehicles compared to last year
Bay Ferries CEO Mark Wilson says a significant drop in Canadian travel was the number one factor in the decline.
He says U.S. bookings held strong, as tens of thousands of American visitors came to Nova Scotia.
Bay Ferries adds that 2025 was still the second-best year of the last four, eclipsing 2022 and 2023 numbers.
Bookings for the 2026 season will open in the next two weeks.
