It’s “Pink Shirt Day” also known as Anti-Bullying Day, that’s observed nationally on the last Wednesday of February each year in Canada.
It encourages us to wear pink shirts as a symbol of solidarity against bullying in schools, workplaces, homes, and online.
It was first started down in the Valley in 2007 in Cambridge, Nova Scotia, when two grade 12 students, David Shepherd and Travis Price, bought and distributed 50 pink shirts to support a ninth-grade student who had been bullied for wearing a pink shirt.
This simple act of kindness sparked a nationwide movement.

Today is #PinkShirtDay, a reminder that everyone has the power to create change. By wearing pink, we stand up against bullying.
