Did you know that Purple Shirt Day started here in Halifax?
The global grass roots campaign began in 2008 by at the time 8-year-old Cassidy Megan who was motivated by her struggles with Epilepsy.
She wanted to increase awareness, reduce the stigma and encourage supporting those with the condition by wearing purple.
I’m wearing my purple Halifax Thunderbirds t-shirt to support the cause.
