More heavy rain is expected to continue across parts of Nova Scotia, with Halifax Regional Municipality and Guysborough County under a rainfall warning Friday afternoon.
Environment Canada says total rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 millimetres are expected, with locally higher totals possible in thunderstorms.
Rainfall rates could reach 5 to 10 millimetres per hour at times, increasing the risk of localized impacts.
The heaviest rain is expected to ease in the Halifax area early this evening, while conditions in Guysborough County are expected to improve closer to midnight.
Officials warn water may pool on roads and in low-lying areas, with visibility potentially reduced during heavier downpours.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant impacts are expected, and people are being advised to continue monitoring forecasts and alerts as conditions evolve.
