Carter Myra is a young local hockey player who was diagnosed with Pediatric Ewing Sarcoma on his 16th birthday and faced his treatment with a level of strength and courage that inspired everyone around him.
After bravely completing that fight, Carter has now relapsed. His cancer has returned and spread, and his journey has become even more difficult.
Despite everything, Carter continues to show the same resilience, positivity and fight that define who he is.
The community is coming together to support Carter and his family during an unimaginable time, to help ease the financial burden, support ongoing treatments, and most importantly allow their family the time and space to be together and focus on what truly matters.

This Friday, May 22nd there’s a fundraiser dance at the Spryfield Lions Arena.
“One Night in May for Myra” will have LIVE music performed by Jon Cyr, food & drink, and a Silent Auction on site.
The event will run from 7:30pm until midnight and is CASH ONLY.
Tickets can be purchased in advance by reaching out to the admins running the Facebook pages for Chebucto Minor Hockey Association or Halifax Macs U18 Major.
Silent Auction items include an autographed Nathan MacKinnon Colorado Avalanche jersey and Autographed Nathan MacKinnon framed picture.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to the Myra family to support them through this journey.
A Go Fund Me is also available for those who wish to help but are unable to attend the event.
I met Carter back on February 13th when he was the Mooseheads special guest for the puck drop on Mooseheads Fight Cancer Night.
