A busy weekend of campaigning for the three main party leaders with a focus on healthcare and dog adoptions.
Liberal Leader Iain Rankin highlighting a $4 billion plan on Sunday to upgrade health-care facilities through new hospitals, emergency care centers, and community health clinics.
He says the upgrades would improve patient safety with new operating rooms and enhance infection controls as well as help to attract more doctors to the region.
Rankin spent the afternoon canvassing throughout the Halifax area.
Tory Leader Tim Houston vowed to introduce a $500 tax credit for people who adopt a dog from a recognized shelter, saying animals provide companionship along with mental and physical health benefits.
He says the aim of the tax break would be to encourage more people to develop healthy routines after the pandemic.
