Public Health is advising of potential exposure to COVID-19 in the Halifax area and on one Halifax Transit route as well as a WestJet flight.
Anyone who worked at or visited the following locations on the specified dates and times should book a COVID-19 test, regardless of whether or not they have symptoms.
You can also call 811 if you don’t have online access, or if you have other symptoms that concern you.
Low Risk Exposures:
For the following locations, if you do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 you do not need to self-isolate while you wait for your test result.
If you have symptoms you are required to self-isolate while you wait for your test result.
- Walmart (90 Lamont Terrace, Dartmouth) on August 24 between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 7.
- Sport Chek (215 Chain Lake Dr., Unit F, Halifax) on:
- August 29 between 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
- August 30 between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
- It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named dates may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 13.
- Marshalls (209 Chain Lake Dr., Halifax) on August 29 between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 12.
- Costco (230 Chain Lake Dr., Halifax) on August 30 between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 13.
- Sport Chek – Halifax Shopping Centre (7001 Mumford Rd. #1, Halifax) on August 30 between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 13.
Moderate Risk Exposures – Transit:
Regardless of whether or not you have COVID-19 symptoms, any passengers who were on the following transit routes for at least 15 minutes on the named dates and times are required to follow the self-isolation instructions noted in this table for a moderate-risk exposure, based on your vaccination status.
COVID-19 testing is also recommended and if you get a positive result, you will be contacted by Public Health about what to do next.
- Halifax Transit Route #0060 (Eastern Passage— Heritage Hills) which ran from Dartmouth General Hospital to Bridge Terminal on August 27 between 8 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 10.
High Risk Exposures:
Anyone who was on the following flight in the specified rows and seats are required to follow the isolation and testing instructions in this table as a high risk contact.
- WestJet 254 travelling on August 29 from Toronto (9:45 p.m.) to Halifax (August 30 at 1:43 a.m.). Passengers in rows 14-20, seats C, D, E and F. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on this flight on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 13.
