What a weekend it was at Country Rocks the Hub in Truro!
Fifteen Hot Country acts over three nights was epic, it was so great to have a bit of normalcy back.
I was lucky enough to get to MC all three nights and get caught up with our Canadian Country music family.
Friday night’s line up featured Kevin Davison from New Minas, Sydney’s Dave Sampson, the Reklaws (with Stu still in his boot after tearing his achilles in a tennis match), Jess Moskaluke and Dean Brody.

Saturday night nobody’s spirits were dampened at all in the mist and the rain as the night started off with Fredericton, New Brunswick’s Tristan Horncastle, Aaron Goodvin, plus George Canyon who was glad to be back home in Nova Scotia performing, Chad Brownlee and the James Barker Band!
I was glad to finally get James to try on my Mooseheads Championship ring, a tradition with the stars.

Chatting with Aaron, he was saying who would’ve thought two years ago that the reason for not performing in front of fans would be not being able to be around other people!
George told me how happy he was to be home and that he’ll be back this season as the Calgary Flames anthem singer in the NHL, and he’ll be back to normal at ice level!
Sunday night’s weather was perfect with Moncton, New Brunswick’s Ivan Daigle kicking off the music followed by Shawn Austin, Jojo Mason, Doc Walker and Dallas Smith!

Shawn Austin has a Hot Hit on the radio with Chris Lane called “Tailgate to Heaven” he’s pumped to team up with Chris!
Jojo is just so much fun to be around and one of the things I missed the most during Covid was his big bear hugs! Coming off the stage he had tears of joy as he was so happy to be back in front of his fans!
I haven’t run into Chris and Dave from Doc Walker from Doc Walker in close to twenty years, they are legends! Chris said he was in Halifax for three of his birthdays and doesn’t remember any of them!…
Dallas Smith put on a high energy show as always and said how great it was to be performing in front of faces again.
That was the resounding statement from the musicians that it means so much to them to be back doing what they love to do!
Thanks for a great weekend Truro, I can’t wait to do it again!
