The COVID-19 vaccines are getting new names.
Health Canada announcing on Thursday both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines have received their full approval for anyone over the age of 12.
That mean they’re also getting new brand names.

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine will now be called Comirnaty, the Moderna vaccine is Spikevax, and AstraZeneca has been dubbed Vaxzevria.
Pfizer says their new vaccine name represents a combo of the terms COVID-19, mRNA, community, and immunity.
They’re just name changes, and there is nothing new about the vaccines themselves.
