Police are investigating break-ins that occurred in the Halifax area overnight.
They responded to a report of a break and enter at the Canadian Tire gas station on Bayers Road shortly before 3 a.m. on Wednesday.
When officers arrived they noticed the door had been damaged and spotted a man running away from the business.
Police say the suspect was bitten by their service dog. He sustained minor injuries.
The 20-year-old is facing several charges including attempted break and enter, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer, and breaching conditions.
Meantime, police are investigating a break-in that occurred at around the same time on Spring Garden Road.
Officers were called to Duggers Mens Wear at around 3 a.m.
Investigators say the doors were forced open and the suspect made off with an “unknown number of clothing items.”
They’re still searching for the suspect, and they have no description at this time.
