If you want to see the line at your favorite restaurant or bar move just a bit faster, then you’re in luck.
The province is launching its VaxCheckNS app Friday.
It’ll be able to scan the QR code on your vaccination card and quickly confirm you’ve got both shots.
You just present your code and ID. They’ll scan it with the app and get either a green “confirmed” screen or a red “sorry” screen.
Your proof of vaccination has included a QR code since October 1.
If you don’t have the QR code on yours, because you downloaded your proof before then, you can just go back and re-download your proof of vaccination.
You’ll still be able to use your old paper proof, but Dr. Robert Strang, the province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, is strongly recommending you switch over to the QR code and app.
