An accused murderer and former med-school student has been denied bail for a third time.
A Nova Scotia Supreme Court Justice dismissed the application for bail from William Sandeson during a hearing in Halifax on Friday.
The grounds for the dismissal are under a publication ban to ensure the 28-year-old’s right to a fair trial.
Sandeson is accused of first-degree murder in the death of fellow Dalhousie University student Taylor Samson in 2015.
Samson was last seen on video walking into Sandeson’s apartment in Halifax. His body has never been found.
Sandeson was convicted in 2017, but that was overturned last year when Nova Scotia’s top court ruled the judge had infringed on his right to a fair trial.
The new trial is set for 2023.
