Several restaurants in the Halifax area are voluntarily shutting their doors to help curb the spread of COVID-19.
Social media has been flooded with restaurants and bars saying they’re closing their dining rooms early for the holidays as cases continue to climb.
Nova Scotia set another new daily COVID-19 case count record on Monday with 485 infections reported.
The Bicycle Thief in Halifax announced on Instagram it would be closing its restaurant due to the record-high cases.

The Cheeky Neighbour has announced it will shut down until staff feel comfortable with the COVID-19 situation.
The Fourth Lock in Fall River has also closed down, saying the restaurant won’t reopen until it’s deemed safe.
“This decision wasn’t easy and has a huge impact on all of our lives,” a Facebook post says. “We are hopeful that this won’t last too long and that we will be able to welcome you back again very soon.”
The restaurant recommends keeping an eye out for updates.
Under the current restrictions, bars and restaurants can operate with physical distancing in place and tables capped at 20 people.
