The provincial Liberals want to see rapid tests included in daily COVID case numbers.
Leader Iain Rankin says the current data being released does not reflect the true status of the virus level in our province.
He believes the government can not effectively manage the Omicron wave without a clear picture of the number of positive cases.
The case counts released by the province show positive tests results from labs but not positive rapid tests.
The public is responsible for letting public health know if they test positive with the 15 minute tests but they are not included in the daily numbers.
He says good policy decisions are informed by accurate data and until rapid tests are included, the government’s response will be ineffective.
