More than 500 drivers were charged in Halifax with impaired-related offences last year.
Halifax District RCMP have released their stats for 2021. They say 251 were charged with alcohol-impaired driving, while seven were found to be impaired by drugs.
RCMP report 225 were issued driving suspensions because of alcohol. 45 people were charged for refusing to provide a breath sample.
The Mounties remind you to report any dangerous driving to the police.
“It is helpful to include the location of the vehicle, a description of the driver and vehicle (including license plate number, colour, make and model) as well as the vehicle’s direction of travel,” a news release says.
Meantime, the Nova Scotia RCMP says a total of 1,398 people were charged in 2021 with impaired driving-related offences.
