A new documentary is diving into the plight of the most at-risk great whale on Earth.
“Last of the Right Whales” is coming to the big screen in Halifax to mark World Whale Day on Sunday.
It follows the journey of the North Atlantic right whales and the people working to save them from extinction.
The doc aims to raise awareness around the deaths caused by ship strikes and fishing gear entanglements.
The film debuts at the Park Lane Cineplex on Sunday afternoon.
A Q&A will follow featuring filmmakers, scientists, and fishers.
The documentary has also launched a year-long campaign to help the right whales pairing with several organizations including the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), Sierra Club Canada Foundation, The Pew Charitable Trusts, Canadian Wildlife Federation, Canadian Whale Institute and Oceans North.
