Thanks to Dale Hubley for a tour of his “Hubley Hockey Hall of Fame!”
Last Sunday I had the opportunity to visit the local hockey collector and see his amazing collection of Nova Scotia memorabilia.
His huge collection has so many memories from the Halifax Mooseheads, Halifax Citadels, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, Nova Scotia Oilers, Cape Breton Oilers, Nova Scotia Voyagueurs and more!
Dale’s collection all began in 2011 after his favourite team, the Boston Bruins, won the Stanley Cup.
His wife suggested he put something up on the wall to commemorate the occasion, that was the beginning of a passionate hobby.
His first jersey was a Jody Shelley one above.
Since then, he has collected hundreds of game worn jerseys, gloves, sticks, trophies, pucks, pins and so much more from local Halifax area auctions and various outlets online.
Here are a few of the pics I took:
(Ian and dale, the 2000 Halifax Memorial Cup Banner, Jean-Sebastien Giguere’s goalie pads and jersey, the 2019 Memorial Cup Mooseheads team members with Halifax’s Justin Barron, Cape Breton Oilers jerseys, a Nathan MacKinnon display, the # 7 jersey Trey Lewis wore when he fought two Baie-Commeau Drakkar players at the same time in May 2013, the Black Script jerseys, Zack Fucale’s goalie mask with my friend and mentor, the late Pat Connolly on it, some goalie masks, a Halifax Citadels Wall, a Halifax Mooseheads legends wall, a Jake Voracek 2007-08 jersey and the old Metro Centre Orange Seats!)
What a collection!
If you have something to add please e-mail me: ian@hotcountry1035.ca and I can connect you with Dale.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane Dale and Go Moose Go!
