Councillors approved a 4.6 percent increase on Tuesday which means if you own a home it’s going to be $100 more than last year.
Businesses will have to dig deeper as well depending on size.
The increase boils down to higher property values in a hot housing market.
The budget includes a climate tax of three percent this year to help pay for things like electric buses.
The vote was 14-3 in favour.
