The province is out with the numbers for ridership on the Yarmouth to Maine ferry.
The news release comes after reporters pressed the Public Works Minister on Thursday for the information on the Bay Ferries-run CAT.
Public Works Minister Kim Masland says in the statement the information was provided late last night by Bay Ferries.
The figures show between May 19 and June 16, a total of 2,888 passengers and 1,323 vehicles made a trip on the ferry.
Masland says the government has asked Bay Ferries to provide daily updates on its website going forward, but the operator has declined.
“This government is bound to a contract entered into by a previous government,” Masland says. “I want to assure Nova Scotians that I will do everything possible to make sure Bay Ferries Limited is transparent and accountable to Nova Scotians.”
The ferry has a capacity of 200 cars and 866 passengers per trip.
