RCMP have laid multiple charges in relation to the collision on Highway 103 that took place on July 27 and saw a section of the highway closed for most of the day.
Things began at approximately 11 a.m., Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a report of a stolen pickup truck from a business on MacCulloch Rd. in Cookville. While responding, RCMP officers learned that the pickup truck had entered Hwy. 103 and was heading east.
Shortly after they were alerted the pickup had gotten into a head-on collision on Hwy. 103 with an SUV.
The driver of the pickup truck, has been identified as Trevor John Heisler, 28, of Conquerall Mills. He suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injruies. He was transported to hospital by ambulance.
Heisler has been charged with; Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Causing Death (2 counts) and Theft of a Conveyance.
The driver of the SUV, a 60-year-old woman, and the passenger, a 63-year-old man, both of Hubbards, were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Heisler remains in police custody and is due to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on August 3rd.
