The Province of Nova Scotia is working to provide internet access to more people.
A new satellite internet service rebate program was announced today, and the program is an important part of the Economic Development Ministers Mandate.
This will cover the cost of installing satellite internet for eligible homes and businesses.
This rebate will cover 3,700 homes and businesses.
“As our province continues to grow, important infrastructure like reliable high-speed internet is critical to our success,” said Economic Development Minister Susan Corkum-Greek. “We want to foster growth and prosperity across Nova Scotia, and each new internet connection represents fewer barriers, faster business growth, and more communities being able to connect.
The government has already invested 8.5 million dollars in Nova Scotia for their internet funding trust program to extend internet to every household in the province.
Legislation will be introduced this fall to bring together Develop Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Lands to develop “Build Nova Scotia” this will maintain responsibly for a high speed internet project.
