Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott are out of the Liberal Party caucus. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the pair had been expelled as the fallout from the SNC-Lavalin scandal continues. The decision came after Liberal MPs gathered on Parliament Hill for an emergency meeting to determine the future of the pair in the party.

Former NDP cabinet minister, Ramona Jennex, is alleging that Nova Scotia Education Minister Zach Churchill ‘berated’ and ‘pushed’ her back in 2012. Jennex is one of two former NDP members to speak about Churchill’s inappropriate behaviour. Churchill says he would never touch another Member of the Legislative Assembly in the manner suggested.

2 families escaped safely from their homes in North Kentville yesterday afternoon after a fire started in a garage. One house and 2 vehicles were destroyed and the second house suffered exterior damage. It took 50 firefighters to battle the blaze and no injuries were reported.

Nova Scotia is set to become the 1st place in North America with presumed consent for organ donation. The idea started about 15 years ago and now countries, including Belgium and Spain, already use the system. The province will take up to a year to establish changes once the bill passes.
