RCMP have arrested a man who was found with a loaded shotgun on highway 102 on Wednesday night. He was found with the weapon in the median near Milford but before that there was an incident in the parking lot near the Sobeys in Elmsdale. The 36 year old man from Halifax is facing several weapons and alcohol-related charges and is due for court.

A former Nova Scotia teacher is the second to be arrested pending a historical sexual assault investigation. 77 year old Jaddus Poirier is facing criminal charges related to incidents in the ’80s & ’90s. Poirier worked as a teacher and volunteer hockey coach in the Halifax area from 1984-2002.

So much for the view from Citadel Hill. If the latest version of the Centre Plan is approved, buildings as high as 27 storeys will be allowed in parts of downtown Halifax and Dartmouth. Planners have been working on new development rules for the urban core of the city since 2015. Previously the maximum building height limit was 20 storeys.
