We lost Ronnie King bassist of the iconic Canadian band The Stampeders on Monday.
The group announced it Tuesday on their Facebook page.
He, Rich Dodson and Kim Berly provided the soundtrack to the 70’s on the radio with classics like: “Sweet City Woman,” “Wild Eyes,” “Carry Me,” “Devil You,” “Ramona,” “New Orleans,” “Hit The Road Jack” and many more!
They formed in 1966 in Calgary as a six piece band and did not like the name their manager forced on them, but they soon became a household name in Canada and the States.
Ronnie was looking forward to the bands final tour this year, but his health took a sudden turn in recent weeks.
Rich Dodson says this summers show in Dartmouth will go ahead as Ronnie would want it that way.
